Rose Elliot has possibly had a greater influence on people's attitudes
to vegetarian cooking than any other writer. Her approach has been to
create meals which are easy, health-giving and attractive and while she
believes that killing and eating living creatures is wrong, she does not
preach to her readers.
Since her first book, Simply Delicious,
was published in 1967 she has written over 50 more and has been published
in many different countries and languages. In 1999 she was awarded an
MBE for services to vegetarian cookery.
