Editors mailing-list

This list is intended for sharing articles between editors of paper-based newlsetters/magazines published by organisations which are IVU members.

These should be primarily of the more 'in-depth' type of article rather than 'news'. Most of the mags are only published every 3 months so it would be pointless posting things which will date quickly. It is also assumed that most editors subscribe to the Veg-News list where you can get lots of 'daily news' (nothing should be posted to both lists). This is a very low-volume list, we would normally expect no more than one or two articles per week.

If you have just printed an interesting article, which you think others might like to use (non-copyright of course!), then send it to the list. You should also find others contributing articles which you can use yourself. The list should NOT be used for large numbers of items just in the hope that someone might find them useful, it should be selective.

'Syndicated' writers.

If you write articles which you think could be usefully syndicated (free of charge) to local newsletters, then you would also be most welcome to join the editors list and send them directly to all the editors.

Translators

Most paper mags are not published in English... so it would good to have translators on the list who are willing/able to translate to other languages for their local editor. If there are enough editors who use another language (German is the most likely) then we could allow posts to the list in that language and invite translators to post it back to the list in English.

For other languages it would be better for the editor to send it to the translator, then the translator post it to the list in English. There wouldn't really be much point posting in Romanian if only two subscribers can read it...
