Bean Pot

  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2-14 oz. cans beans
  • 19 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 veggie wieners, chopped
  • 1 tsp. vegetable bouillon (Vegeta)
  • Dash cayenne
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
Saute celery and onion in a little oil or water until tender.

Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes. Serves 6.

Garlic Butter

  • 6 Tbsp cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. salt
In small saucepan stir cornmeal into 1 1/2 cups of boiling water. On low heat, stir with a fork and cook for 3 minutes until thick.

In blender, liquefy the cooked cornmeal along with remaining ingredients.

Store in a covered container in fridge.

Jerk Pasta Salad

*MODERATELY HOT*

  • 5 cups cooked pasta
  • 1 can (540ml) lentils
  • 1 can (540ml) white kidney beans
  • 3 cups broccoli
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flaxseed oil
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup Jamaican Jerk sauce
Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Chill.

Seed Bread

Measure all ingredients into bread machine baking pan.

Follow manufacturer's instructions for baking bread. (Of course, you can use the traditional hand method for making the bread using the above ingredients.)
