  2. Red Cabbage: Discard any rough or rotten outer layers of cabbage. Next, cut the cabbage in half through the stem. Then quarter the cabbage and cut off the root diagonally. Finally, thinly slice the cabbage.
  3. Onion: Slice the onion into thin slices. If find raw onion to be very strong, soak the onion in a bowl of cold water for about 20 minutes to lessen the intensity.
  5. STEP 1: Prepare the Dressing
  6. Prepare the dressing by whisking together all of the ingredients in a small mixing bowl until smooth, then set them aside.
  7. Combine the vegetable ingredients, which include red cabbage, carrots, fried tofu, and onions, in a large mixing bowl.
  8. STEP 2: Toss the Salad
  9. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until everything is well mixed. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Toss in the chopped laksa leaves and peanuts just before serving.
