  2. How to Cut Carrots into Flowers Step-by-Step:
  3. Wash and peel the carrot. Place the carrot horizontally on a cutting board, then cut it in half down the middle.
  4. Cut off the ends. Cut a V-shaped groove using the length of your knife’s blade. Carefully cut at a 45-degree angle on one side, then again on the opposite side to complete the V
  5. Don’t make the grooves too deep or the flower petals will look too square. Start small, and you can always make the groove deeper if needed.
  6. Cut four more grooves on the carrot, spacing them evenly. Five grooves on the carrot will give you five petals on the flower, which is ideal for aesthetics as most flowers have 5 petals.
  7. On smaller carrots, you may only be able to cut four grooves which will give it four petals, which is okay too.
  8. Place the carrot horizontally on your cutting board then cut into thin slices. Voila! You now have carrot flowers!
  10. Step 1: Make the Ragout’s Broth
  11. Add a little oil to a pot along with two pureed tomatoes and two teaspoons of sugar for taste.
  12. Simmer for around 5 minutes to allow the tomatoes and sugar to melt and give the meal a more vibrant color like shown.
  13. Bring it to a boil after adding 1,5 liters of water.
  14. Step 2: Stir-fry the Veggies
  15. Prepare a pan and sauté some minced garlic and onion while the water comes to a boil. Cook the king oyster and shiitake mushrooms in a stir-fry pan until cooked, then add the stir-fried mushroom mixture to the broth pot of the ragout.
  16. Keep adding 4 tablespoons of cashew butter, 2 teaspoons of rock sugar, 1 tablespoon of salt and stirring thoroughly. Bring it to a simmer for a further 5–10 minutes before adding the carrots, potatoes, and peas.
  17. Step 3: Simmering
  18. Once the potatoes and carrots are nearly done, add the bell peppers last. Because bell peppers mature quickly, you do not need to simmer them.
  19. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes to finish the ragout pot.
  20. Step 4: Finish and serve
  21. Finally, garnish with cilantro and a few green chilies and serve alongside bread or vermicelli.
