Method

  1. PREPARATION
  2. Make the Dough Wrapper: Preheat a skillet and add 100 grams of palm sugar, 150 ml of coconut milk, and 3 teaspoons of coconut oil. Cook until the mixture is dissolved.
  3. Then, in a large mixing basin, combine them with 120 grams of plain flour and sift thoroughly, then knead with your hands until the dough is soft.
  4. Make the Filling: Soak 100 grams of skinless mung beans for approximately 1 hour before steaming for 30 minutes.
  5. Following that, add the steamed mung beans to the saucepan along with 100ml of coconut milk, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and a sprinkle of salt to taste.
  6. Fry mung bean paste till soft, then add 60 grams of cereal, combine thoroughly, and shape into little balls.
  7. Form the Dice Cake: Take a bit of dough and roll it into a ball slightly larger than the filling. Spread it thinly and place the mung bean filling in the middle.
  8. Grab hold of the cake's edge and continue molding until the edge is smooth, pressing up and down with two fingers to form a cube.
  9. How to Decorate: Dip a cotton swab in red food coloring and gently press it onto the cake's surface to create dots for the dice.
  10. Alternatively, if you do not want to use food coloring, you may substitute black sesame seeds by brushing a little coconut oil on top of the cake to help the sesame seeds stick.
  11. INSTRUCTION
  12. Bake the Dice Cakes: Preheat the air fryer, then place all of the dice cakes into it. Bake for 20 minutes at 120 degrees, then remove and serve with a nice cup of tea.
