Spicy Vinegar of Haiti - Picklese (Pikliz)

by Marie-Therese Pierre
Pikliz is an extremely hot Haitian condiment made from pickled Scotch Bonnet peppers, cabbage, carrots, and onions. It is traditionally used to flavor soups like Soupe Joumou or sprinkled over meals at the table. The spicy vinegar mixture is left to sit for at least 24 to 48 hours to develop its intense heat and vibrant flavor.
