Place the water and dried hibiscus flowers into a heavy based pot over medium heat

As the mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for a further 10 minutes

Strain the mixture through a fine meshed sieve into a large pitcher

Add the sugar and stir until the sugar completely dissolves

Add the remaining water and stir until well combined
