En este folleto se acusaba a McDonald´s de servir comida no saludable, de promover políticas perjudiciales para el medio ambiente, y de la explotación de animales y personas en una búsqueda desenfrenada del beneficio económico. El resultante juicio "McLibel" se extendió por un período de 335 días, siendo la acción legal más larga de la historia británica. Las leyes británicas de denuncias por libelo (calumnias) adjudican una gran carga de pruebas en los defensores, requiriendo que si estos no pueden pagar un abogado, entonces deben conducir su propia defensa.
