Esta es una pregunta que se plantea un creciente grupo de escépticos (consumidores preocupados) que señalan equivocaciones notorias en los supuestos 'avances científicos'. Uno de los casos, y se podría decir que el más desagradable de todos, es la nueva producción de alimentos genéticamente modificados que están literalmente 'entrando a hurtadillas' en todos los mercados alimentarios del mundo, completamente sin probar sus efectos a largo plazo sobre los humanos, y sin etiquetar porque ¡la mayor parte de los gobiernos no lo exigen! Del mismo modo, científicos independientes preocupados (que no reciben dinero de las empresas que investigan, crean o venden estos cultivos e ingredientes alimentarios genéticamente manipulados) están pidiendo una moratoria sobre los ingredientes genéticamente manipulados y estudios independientes a largo plazo sobre humanos de varios años antes de que se permita la venta en el mercado de estos alimentos. Por el momento, sin embargo, están haciendo oídos sordos a esas peticiones. Son asuntos como estos los que plantean cuestionarse la verdadera sensatez, inteligencia y responsabilidad de las grandes empresas. ¿Debemos permitir esta reprobable explotación de nuestro planeta y de la humanidad por unos pocos "animales humanos" egoístas?
