For one moment we thought that all the flights to Thailand were already sold. We'll be flying with Alitalia (the italian company) from Spain via Milan (17:00 PM) to Bangkok on Dec-31, so we will meet at the stopover in Bangkok, and later will fly to Chiang Mai on Jan-4 (9:15 AM). If anyone is going on the same flights please let us know. So finally, here you are our personal introduction. Our names are Estrella (spanish name for "star") and David, we live in Spain in a small town named Alcoy (near Alicante). We are aged 33 and 31, so we're young but not the youngest from all the congress attendants. Personally, I'm been vegetarian since 1989 for my own motivations and readings, and my wife since 1995. We turned vegan in 1996 thanks to the fact of meeting Francisco Martin, real campaigner for the cause. We are committed to spreading vegetarianism in our country, working with several groups: our local veg society, as well as AVE (the Spanish Vegan Society) and the spanish committee for Natural Hygiene. And in my "spare time" I'm in charge of the spanish section of the IVU website... :-) We enjoy travelling. We've been in America and Europe, but the opportunity to visit this part of Asia along with meeting people from every corner of the world is really amazing. In the beginning, we found this trip a little too expensive for our modest economy, but it was such a temptation and now I think it will be worth the effort. Moreover it's the moment to meet "in person" some of our internet friends !! We will be staying until January 15, so that we can have several free days for touristic visits through the northern region, around Chiang Mai. Has anyone also made any plans for those days?
