A member of staff will join each trip to ensure you are well looked after and the scenery and historical aspects of Scotland are treats not to be missed! **FULL DAY TOURS Wednesday 10th July****LOCH LOMOND AND THE TROSSACHS** Journey to Balloch, on the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, cruise on the famous loch and enjoy lunch before travelling through the mountains and the lochs of the Trossachs to Aberfoyle, an area famed for its textiles. Visit a local woollen mill with time to browse for quality Scottish tartans. Ref F1 £35.00 *(2 course lunch + admissions included)* --- **NATIONAL WALLACE MONUMENT AND STIRLING CASTLE** On the way to the ancient town of Stirling, this tour will stop at the National Wallace Monument built in commemoration of Scotland’s Braveheart, Sir William Wallace. Climb the monument to enjoy panoramic views of Stirling and the ancient battlefield before lunch then visit Stirling Castle, once the home of Mary Queen of Scots. Sensible footwear is recommended for this tour. Ref F2 £38.00 *(2 course lunch + admissions included)* --- **ROSSLYN CHAPEL AND TRAQUAIR HOUSE** Rosslyn, built in 1446 is unique and famed worldwide for the beauty and variety of its carvings – see the famous ‘Apprentice Pillar’ and Pagan symbols and experience the aura of mystery and magic which surrounds the chapel. Following lunch, journey to Traquair – the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. Once a pleasure ground for Scottish Kings in times of trouble, then a refuge for Catholic priests in times of terror, the house remains untouched by time. Visit the brewery where ‘Traquair House Ale’ is still brewed in a very traditional manner. This tour of the city’s best known landmarks includes the famous castle and bustling medieval Royal Mile. Continue into the 18th century Georgian New Town with its elegant crescents and tree-lined squares, then enjoy dramatic interactive special effects at Dynamic Earth: an exciting way to discover our planet’s story. Ref H1 £20.00 *(coach, admissions + guide included)* --- **GLENKINCHIE WHISKY DISTILLERY** **(sorry - this tour is cancelled)** Glenkinchie Distillery is situated at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills, 40 minutes from Edinburgh. Founded in 1840, Glenkinchie still uses traditional methods of distillation – with just a little help from modern technology. Guests tour the museum and distillery, and then enjoy a wee dram of the fine single malt whisky produced (guaranteed vegetarian by tour company!) Ref H2 £14.00 *(coach, admissions, guide + whisky dram included)* --- **NEW LANARK (4 hours)** New Lanark is a 200-year-old cotton-spinning village situated south of Glasgow in the upper Clyde Valley and is a remarkable 19th century social and industrial experiment. The village became world famous due to the work of the mill owner and social pioneer Robert Owen an intriguing history lesson. Browse around the period houses and shops at leisure before stepping back in time to 1820, looking at life in New Lanark through the eyes of a young girl. For the energetic, the nearby ancient woodland gorge also offers a lovely walk leading to the spectacular Falls of the Clyde.
