The venue for the 33rd World Vegetarian Congress is the five-star Lotus Hotel, with direct access to the Kad Suan Kaew shopping complex, the largest and most complete Shopping Arcade in northern Thailand, located in the centre of Chiang Mai, just 15 minutes ride from the international airport. The hotel has a full range of first class facilities, including conference rooms and a near olympic size swimming pool. All rooms have air conditioning and private bathrooms. Prices are extremely reasonable by western standards, but more basic accommodation is also available nearby if required, with daily rates starting from about $15 per person.

While the congress is taking place, the ground floor of the Lotus hotel will be given over to a vegetarian fair with a wide variety of vegetarian shops and restaurants with free exhibitions and shows for the general public which participants in the congress are invited to watch or to join in.
