Press, Radio and TV coverage of the history-making Congress was excellent. Among the papers and magazines that had reporters and/or photographers on the scene, were The N.Y. Times, Washington Post, Wasington Star, Phia. Enquirer, Newsweek, Maine Times, and the Maine Alunmus (U of M magazine). Most faetured a good-sized story as well. The local Bangor Daily news ran daily feature articles on the event that was briefly putting Orono in the spotlight of public attention.

Numerous radio stations all over the country (including on 3300 miles away in San Diego) saw the story coming in on the wire, and phoned the Congress to do a live or taped interview over the phone lines.

CBS, ABC, and NBC TV networks all covered the Congress, as did the local station for a state-wide network. Overseas, N.Y. Times items were re-printed in the International Herald Tribune in Milan, and the Daily American in Rome. The Ballymena Guardian in N. Ireland ran 2 photos, given by Vrian Gunn-King.
