I make hummus from different recipes...traditionally, it has lots
of tahini (sesame seed paste) and I went veggie to improve my health
AND lose weight.
Here's a non-traditional, low-fat version from one of Dr. McDougall's
Combine in a blender or food processor & process until smooth.
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 15-16 ounce can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- 1-3 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tbsps. lemon juice
- chili powder to taste
If you would like a more traditional hummus recipe, let me know
...cooking is my hobby & I have 100+ cookbooks
(many not vegetarian....: , but we're getting there!)
