Some VUNA Councillors
Pictures and Comments from
Hi there! I'm having a great time at my second World Vegetarian
Congress (the first one I attended in 1984, when I had just started
to get involved in the vegetarian movement). Now I am past president
of the Toronto Vegetarian Association
and president of the Vegetarian
Union of North America (VUNA) which is the North American
regional arm of the IVU. The
best thing for me about this congress has been meeting all the
great people from all over North America and around the world.
The second best is that at this congress the Toronto Vegetarian
Association has been chosen as the host for the World
Vegetarian Congress in the year 2000!

|Having a great time at the congress! Wish you were here... It's a thrill to see so many people - from past conferences and now - who live life in this wonderful way.

||Hi Grandpa Bernie!
Past president of vegetarians of Kansas City, member of VUNA board.
Shifted to a purely plant-based diet after 3 years working in the pharmaceutical biz, and learning how consuming meat, dairy and eggs supports lab animal research. Willing to share ideas for raising vegan kids, setting up kitchen, and motivate. E- mail me!

||The World Vegetarian Congress attendance was about 800 persons for the entire week. Each WVC becomes bigger and better.
I'm Founder and Co-President of the Boston Vegetarian Society, and Founder and Director of the Vegetarian Resource Center, which organizes the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival (3500 attendees our first year) and the World Vegetarian Day on the Boston Common.
I'm a Regional Council member of VUNA (Vegetarian Union of North America), North American regional arm of the IVU, and past Vice President (8 years). Although I was Program Planner for the 8th International Vegan Festival in San Diego, California in 1995, this World Vegetarian Congress is far larger, and NAVS has done an outstanding job.
